BeepBuddy was created by Luke and Maya after a moment that many people can relate to. Maya was studying late in the city and often had to walk back to her car alone at night. Like many partners would feel, Luke worried about her safety and wished there was something simple she could carry that could help if she ever felt unsafe.
That moment sparked the idea for BeepBuddy. We wanted to create something that could help the women in our family feel safer — our partners, sisters, daughters and friends. But when we started researching personal safety products, we discovered that most self-defence tools in Australia are illegal.
So we decided to create a simple, legal alternative. BeepBuddy was designed to be easy to use, small enough to carry every day, and affordable so everyone could own one.
Our goal is simple: to help people feel a little safer when walking alone, heading to their car, or travelling at night. We hope you never have to use it.
