What is Smart Alert?
Smart alert can trigger your smart phone's emergency features - depending on your particular phone settings, this can be the following - calling the 000, sending your location to a trusted contact.
How do I activate the Smart Alert?
Smart alert can be activated two ways - Firstly by activating the alarm for more than 5 seconds, or by pressing the side button rapidly 5 times. This will activate Smart alert silently without the 130dB alarm.
Smart Alert requires connection to a smartphone via Bluetooth and is dependent on your smartphone's emergency features.
Apple set-up
Step 1 - Go to settings in your iPhone.
Step 2 - Go to Emergency SOS - Turn on all settings
Step 3 - Go to health app on your iPhone
Step 4 - Go to Medical ID - Add your emergency contacts - Follow the prompts to save.
Step 5 - Connect to Bluetooth - long hold the side button until it beeps - Go to Bluetooth settings in your iPhone - connect to SOS personal alarm.
Android set-up
Step 1 - Connect to Bluetooth - long hold the side button until it beeps - Go to Bluetooth settings in your phone - connect to SOS personal alarm.
Step 2 - Go to settings in your phone.
Step 3 - Go to safety and emergency - go to emergency contacts.
Step 4 - Add emergency contacts and follow the prompts to save.
130 decibels is louder than a rock concert and can be heard from over 180 metres away. For reference, a typical car horn is around 110dB. BeepBuddy's alarm is designed to be impossible to ignore, immediately drawing attention to your location in an emergency.
Simply pull the pin at the top of the device. There are no buttons to fumble with — just grab and pull. The alarm sounds immediately and continues until the pin is reinserted. It's designed to work even in high-stress situations where fine motor skills may be compromised.
BeepBuddy charges via USB-C and lasts for weeks on standby. A full charge provides around 30 minutes continuous alarm use — far more than you'd ever need in an emergency. The charging cable is included in every box. Around 1 hour is all it takes for full charge.

Yes, completely. BeepBuddy is a personal safety alarm, not a weapon. Unlike pepper spray, tasers, or other self-defence tools that are restricted or illegal in most Australian states, personal alarms are fully legal to carry and use anywhere in Australia.
The alarm is designed to draw attention and deter potential threats. When activated, move towards well-lit, populated areas if possible. The piercing sound and LED strobe are designed to disorient a potential attacker and alert people nearby to your situation.
